Lusaka deserves leadership that is calm, competent, and focused on people—not noise, rhetoric or politics.

My name is David Nyirenda, and I am a candidate for Mayor of Lusaka in 2026.

This page exists for one clear reason: to explain how our city should work, why it often doesn’t, and what must change—based on law, systems, and lived reality. I bring over 20 years of experience in local government and public finance, including senior leadership roles. I understand how councils are supposed to function—and where they break down.

  • • Facts over rumours
  • • Systems over slogans
  • • Solutions over insults

If you care about:

✔ Accountable city leadership

✔ Dignity for residents

✔ A Lusaka that actually works

You’re in the right place.

Follow the page. David Nyirenda – Mayor of Lusaka 2026, engage respectfully. Let’s raise the level of civic conversation in our city.

People. Process . Progress.

If a public car park is used or offered without open bidding and a private individual collecting Council Revenue without authority, is that politics or corruption?

FACTS: • Corruption is not only stealing money

  • It includes using council land without legal authority
  • Public assets must follow open procedures

THE REAL PROBLEM: • Elites and cadres capture council assets

  • Council is pressured and later blamed
  • Services suffer, citizens pay the price.

Ba Lusaka, YOU need to see through the noise.
We need clear systems that protect public assets.

Demand systems that serve common good . That’s real development.

Brothers and sisters, listen carefully:
The ruling party wants power. Opposition wants to win. But our COUNCILS should not be a political battlefield!
Why? Because:
Cleaning streets doesn’t need a party card 🧹
Removing junkies doesn’t require politics 🚫
Creating jobs for youth isn’t about party colors 💼
Local authorities simply execute existing laws. That’s it!
MY APPEAL TO YOU:
When voting for mayor, forget party politics. Ask yourself:
1⃣ Is this person COMPETENT?
2⃣ Does this person have PASSION for our community?
3⃣ Will this person RESPECT everyone’s dignity?
Vote for ABILITY, not party colors! Our cities deserve mayors who can DELIVER, not just campaign.
